The candidate will be responsible for the efficient delivery of litigation services for all business units and functions operating in the UK. The role requires detailed knowledge of domestic commercial litigation/arbitration and dispute resolution.

A well known multinational business with an established experienced legal team.

Description

You will:

  • conduct and manage complex and high-value commercial cases and lower value SME claims;
  • instruct and manage external lawyers and third parties where appropriate;
  • provide litigation support on complex non-contentious issues to the wider legal team;
  • build effective relationships with key stakeholders to ensure that you are a trusted adviser;
  • work with internal media specialists in dealing with press, PR and public affairs issues;
  • ensure services are delivered to a very high standard and within agreed timescales and budgets;
  • provide appropriate and timely advice on applicable laws and regulations, monitoring EU and UK legislative and judicial activity;
  • engage with the relevant business units to increase internal knowledge about the causes of litigation and to drive change;
  • report within the litigation team, the legal team and the wider business;
  • identify, develop and deliver business focussed training to the legal team and the wider business.

Profile

  • A commercially minded litigation lawyer qualified in England & Wales
  • Proven experience in conducting and advising on high-value and complex disputes.
  • In-house experience would be desirable.
  • Experience of building strong relationships with commercial stakeholders.
  • Designed and delivered effective and engaging training programmes.
  • An ability to comprehend the commercial priorities of the business and be driven to support achievement of these outcomes in the simplest and most effective manner.
  • Be someone who can express complex concepts in plain and simple language, including delivering effective and engaging training programmes in particular in face to face workshops.
  • Excellent drafting, advocacy and influencing skills and an ability to deliver with impact.
