An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified lawyer or other suitably qualified legal professional to work with Astra Asset Management UK Limited (“Astra”) a dual regulated boutique investment management firm has arisen.  Working alongside the General Counsel, the successful candidate will be advising the portfolio management team in pursuing structured credit, private debt investment strategies for a wide range of institutional investors and high net worth individuals, tailoring and structuring bespoke lending and financing solutions for a wide range of institutional investors. Astra was incorporated in August 2012 with an initial focus on structured credit investment management. Astra has a wide range of boutique service offerings to institutional investors and offers bespoke lending solutions to sophisticated investors. Astra is authorised and regulated as an investment manager by the Financial Conduct Authority and as a Registered Investment Advisers with the Securities Exchange Commission.

You will be responsible for working alongside the General Counsel and Management Committee in devising group legal strategy and for the preparation of a diverse range of transaction and commercial documentation for the portfolio management and special situations team on a multi-jurisdictional basis and in numerous asset classes – complex structured credit, loan origination, lending solutions for residential and commercial properties.  The candidate should ideally be a solicitor with 1-3 years PQE or have a similar or equivalent professional qualification. You will receive a salary based on experience with the prospect of an additional discretionary bonus contingent on performance.
