Junior to mid-level corporate lawyer – prestigious offshore firm – high-value cross border corporate work – attractive salary & relocation

This major offshore law firm has an outstanding reputation in the Channel Islands where it is regarded among the leaders across multiple practice areas. Its corporate team is experiencing a period of sustained growth which has created openings in both its Guernsey and Jersey offices, for lawyers with some experience of high-value corporate work.

These are broad corporate lawyer roles which will see you getting involved in the entire range of offshore corporate work, including mainstream M&A/disposals, capital markets/listings, joint ventures, restructurings and private equity deals. You will provide specialist advice on the Jersey/Guernsey elements of the transaction, working closely with your client and enjoying substantial responsibility.

You will likely be UK/Ireland/Australia/NZ qualified and have 1 to 3 years’ relevant experience gained in corporate law in a City, or leading regional practice (or equivalent overseas). You will join a successful team working in an environment which is fast-paced and dynamic, but which remains down to earth and friendly. Outside of work, there is a good social scene on both islands and your significantly better work-life balance will afford you every opportunity to enjoy the many advantages of island life.

The Channel Islands

For a city-based lawyer who thrives on big ticket work but craves an escape from the rat race, few places compete with the Channel Islands, home to two of the world’s premier offshore financial centres. Jersey and Guernsey have strong and highly competitive legal sectors, housing teams that number many alumni of the leading London or international outfits amongst their ranks. They do complex blue-chip work, in a nice environment without the trappings of a big law firm culture. Work-life balance tends to be good, leaving plenty of time to enjoy what is an enviable coastal lifestyle and London is only an hour away making it easy to get that city fix when (or if) you need it.

Process

Interviews will take place by videoconference with start dates typically three months later, depending on notice period. Our clients provide comprehensive assistance with licenses (where applicable) and relocation, including temporary accommodation on arrival.
