CILEx Regulation is the independent regulatory body of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEX). We regulate individual legal professionals and law firms.

You will be a key member of a small team who are responsible for ensuring the regulated community comply with the CILEX Code of Conduct and taking enforcement or disciplinary action where necessary. Your day-to-day role will involve managing, investigating and progressing your own caseload of professional misconduct and self-declared conduct (prior-conduct) cases.

You will use your technical skills and experience in analysing substantial amounts of complex information; identifying and investigating relevant lines of enquiry; obtaining witness statements and other evidence; making delegated decisions; undertaking legal research; preparing reports for our Professional Conduct Panel and hearing bundles for our Disciplinary Tribunal or Appeals Panel. You may be called as a witness or be asked to represent or advocate on behalf of CILEx Regulation in disciplinary hearings. Advocacy training will be provided where required.

We are seeking a hardworking, adaptable, resilient and empathetic team player with a real eye for detail who is qualified to degree level, ideally with a legal qualification OR comparable experience of legal practice or undertaking recognised legal work. In turn, you will be provided with on-the job training and support with good learning and development opportunities.
