HSE Criminal Regulatory Solicitor - West Midlands
Criminal Regulatory Solicitor / Associate - This is the national team of a top 50 law firm. The work undertaken relates to everything from motor crime to high level HSE Regulatory and investigation work including Health and Safety, corporate manslaughter and environmental pollution. The successful applicant will join the team at a key time in its development and has the opportunity to gain fantastic exposure.
The team is also prepared to consider candidates from other disciplines such as personal injury and crime providing candidates demonstrate the qualities of a talented litigator.
Role and responsibilities
- Job Title: Solicitor or Legal Executive
- Location: West Midlands
- Salary: to £45,000
- Reports to: Partner
- Previous experience: Motor crime and / or regulatory and compliance would be ideal. Any experience of trials or inquests would be useful as well as liaising with the Court, Coroner's Office and CQC, Police, HSE or relevant regulator. Also willing to consider candidates from other disciplines such as personal injury and general crime.
A broad mix of regulatory instructions
The team undertakes an impressive range of work including motor crime, general health and safety as well as environmental investigatory work. The successful candidate will assist on a variety of tasks as well as gradually developing their own caseload.
A typical day may involve everything from inquests and criminal hearings to advising on day-to-day compliance issues. Lawyers may find themselves attending hearings at the magistrate's court, crown court and coroner's court or they may find themselves in the boardroom adising Directors on case strategy as well as aspects of compliance and governance.
