MI and Operations Assistant - Bolton

MI and Operations Assistant - Bolton - This is a highly exciting and dynamic role. The successful candidate will work directly with key stakeholders including the EL/PL Casualty practice area head of this major insurance law firm. The role involves, collating and analysing data and metrics in order to improve processes and increase efficiencies with the ultimate aim of improving the services provided by the firm's lawyers and increasing profitability.

  • Reports to: Practice Area Head / Head of Department
  • Previous Experience: Strong spreadsheet capabilities including excel. Candidates must be proficient in analysing data, extrapolating trends, forecasting and presenting information to internal stakeholders as well as clients.

The department in more detail - casualty PI

The Casualty team of this major national law firm is made up of lawyers at all levels from Paralegals and Legal Executives through to Solicitors, Associates and Partners. These lawyers provide advice to major insurance clients and corporates on a range of personal injury matters from lower-level cases, to highly complex, high-value disputes. Each team is led by a Head of Department or Practice Area Head.

Key aspects of role

The Practice Area Head or Head of Department manages the overall performance of the whole department, driving efficiencies, improving processes, ensuring client service levels and increasing profitability. This key role is supported by sophisticated data analysis and intelligence gathered and analysed by MI and Operations Assistants.

Working directly with Heads of Department

These assistants work directly with Heads of Department and Directors in the production and delivery of accurate management information, including analysis and reporting. As such, this is a fundamental role demanding a real appreciation of data analytics and critical thinking. The MI and Operations team also provide key reports to the firm's clients and, as such, add value to the firm's service offering.

Key skills / attributes

The successful applicant will be involved in various projects and tasks including:

  • forecasting and data management;
  • supporting on internal and external audits;
  • Generating management reports;
  • Supporting with tenders and pitches.

Candidates must have strong skills in data analytics. Sound knowledge of Excel is crucial along with strong presentational skills. Applicants are also sought with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and clients alike.
