One of the major players in its field, our client is a financially successful company which relies upon just over 130 employees to ensure the best return on its multi-billion Sterling asset base. It has an exciting new opportunity for a paralegal with commercial acumen looking to play a key role in keeping all assets on lease.
Description
Reporting to the Head of Legal, you will provide support to the small in-house Legal Team. You will be gaining experience in the core areas of the business by undertaking the following type of work:
- Drafting and reviewing commercial contracts such as basic amendment letters and variation orders, consultancy agreements and confidentiality agreements;
- Drafting and collating conditions precedent, corporate authorities, notices under our debt and security structure etc;
- Assisting on execution of documentation, closings and signings;
- Reviewing and collating evidence of insurances received from our counterparts;
- Assisting on due diligence exercises;
- Document management;
- Supporting the Legal Team on its day to day matters;
- Liaising with and assisting other members of the Legal Team to ensure adequate information sharing, and the provision by the Legal Team of efficient and pragmatic legal advice.
Profile
The successful candidate should possess a law degree (or equivalent, such as CILEX) and should ideally have at least one year's experience in a similar role, either in-house or in private practice. A basic understanding of insurance would be advantageous, but training will be provided.
In addition, you will be a pragmatic individual with strong attention to detail, exceptional communication skills and the confidence to work with clients and colleagues at all levels, both lawyers and non-lawyers, and be keen to integrate fully into the business.
You will possess a "can-do" attitude. You will anticipate and take responsibility for your own tasks (and plan these accordingly). You will demonstrate a willingness to adapt, learn about new areas and develop new skills on the job.
