THE ROLE
A solicitor or barrister is sought mainly to advise clients in the Education sector, including universities, further education colleges, academies and other educational bodies on a range of issues.
These will include legal issues in connection with students, such as safeguarding and immigration, equality and diversity, (other than employment law obligations); drafting and advising on governance documents, policies and procedures; advising on the application of the freedom of information and data protection legislation; advising on existing and new legislation; conducting litigation to include judicial review and civil claims.
ABOUT YOU
With 3pqe + in litigation, you will have ideally have experience of working in the education sector and be interested in Regulatory Public and Commercial Disputes.
Experience of public law and/or working with higher education or further education clients would be desirable, together with experience of Tier 4 of the immigration points based system, relating to students, marketing skills and advocacy.
