Therapeutic Legal Counsel, ACE Region


I am currently working with a leading biopharmaceutical organisation who is seeking a talented lawyer to join a busy team to provide legal advice the Liver Disease and Established Products part of the business. The position will be based in the UK but will form part of the Global Therapeutic Area Legal team that is based both in Europe and the US. The position will advise on matters relating to promotional and educational materials and activities, engagements with healthcare organisations and professionals as well as on other legal issues relevant to the pharmaceutical industry.

  • The successful candidate will provide advice, guidance and counsel to commercial, medical and corporate teams on sales and marketing strategies, programs, policies, practices and initiatives with respect to compliance with relevant healthcare laws, guidance documents or opinions, and industry codes (including the EFPIA and APBI codes, anti-bribery laws, and internal business conduct policies).

  • You will be a legal representative on one or more cross-functional therapeutic area Global Review Committees to provide legal feedback and direction on advertising, promotional and educational materials submitted for review that can be the basis of materials localised in countries in compliance with local rules.

  • Review and provide legal guidance on financial and other interactions with healthcare professionals, patients, or others in a position to influence healthcare decisions (e., payors, advocacy groups, etc.) to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

  • Valid SRA Practicing Certificate for England and Wales.

  • A good level of Post Qualification experience within a law firm that has a recognised life sciences practice and/or equivalent experience as a member of a biotechnology or pharmaceutical company's legal department. They are also open to legal experience in other highly regulated industries and suggest presenting your thoughts on transferability in a cover letter if applicable.


Experience as a commercial lawyer providing legal advice and support for regulated products is a necessity of the role. This role will pay competitively and offer excellent progression (reviewed on a yearly basis). You will be an integral part of a growing and forward thinking team and part of a very experienced wider legal team.
