Legal Counsel

LEGAL COUNSEL - INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT - LONDON

An investment manager with £1 AUM is looking to grow their legal team with the hire of a mid-level Legal Counsel.

This role will report into the General Counsel and Head of Commercial and will be part of a business that is fairly small for the size of assets under management, and has a very collegiate feel.

For this Legal Counsel position, you should be between 2-6PQE and have a background in construction/infrastructure/facilities management/PFI/PPP. Candidates coming from private practice will be considered as well as from in-house.

Responsibilities will include:
*Supporting the acquisition of new investments/assets or the dealings with existing held assets. Securing the approval and appropriate participation of the business' main board and investors;
*Preserving the value and income of the assets against claim, risk, detriment in various forms;
*Corporate good practice, ensuring the business of the Group is properly conducted in accordance with its own legal and contractual governance and also in the wider legal/regulatory environment;
*Supporting the business generally in its legal & business needs; including for example services and supplies procurement, IT and HR and advising external counsel.

This role would suit someone who is looking to move into a more commercially focused role, as this will be a Legal and Commercial role. You will have commercial strategic outlook and understanding; be rational and be intellectually rigorous in relation to work and to problem solving and have an ability to communicate with colleagues of differing professional backgrounds and experience.
