We are working with our client in the telecommunications sector on an exciting 18-month fixed-term contract for a Senior Counsel to support the client's Consumer division.
The ideal candidate will be a consumer protection lawyer with experience gained within the retail, utilities, or financial services sectors. The role reports into the Head of Legal and will be responsible for providing a range of key activities including providing advice on legal and regulatory compliance, handling contentious issues concerning customer claims as well as managing a paralegal, working with outside advisors, providing advice on the legal and regulatory consequences of potential new products and services, and advising the business on the effect of changes to legislation or regulation.
This role would suit a fully qualified UK solicitor or Commonwealth lawyer with solid training at a well-regarded law firm. Previous in-house experience in a consumer-facing business is required, as well as a strong consumer law background.
