You will be reporting to the Global Software & Applications Manager and will be responsible for developing, managing, and supporting desktop operating systems and applications, and their respective management platforms, across the firm globally.

The Role - will involve supporting the day to day running of the global desktop estate and the infrastructure that supports PC builds. You should be able to define, architect, engineer and build software packaging and distribution services. Also, be responsible for building and maintaining the next generation of desktop and remote access systems.

Other duties include:

  • Liaise with customers and external suppliers to resolve technical issues.
  • Coordinate with other IT teams, providing 3rd line support to the 1st & 2nd line teams.
  • Communicate constantly with a broad range of stakeholders across the business regarding software and applications.
  • Observe performance of the firm's IT systems and detect discrepancies.
  • Follow appropriate departmental and company procedures and policies (i. change control, security, and auditing, release configuration, problem, and incident management).
  • Inspect potential areas for service improvement and raise proposals with the applications manager.

You - will have demonstrable experience in an IT role within Law or Professional Services.

You will also be or have:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience operating in a senior 3rd line capacity, with primary responsibility for desktop delivery and management.
  • Excellent knowledge of Windows 10, UEV Profiles and Microsoft Office 2016/O365.
  • Sound knowledge of desktop security, including policies, anti-malware, firewall and DLP.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft System Centre (SCCM/MECM) for OS build, AV management, application deployment, patching and compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure / Microsoft 365 Portal.
  • Experience in scripting, packaging, deploying, and testing software installations.
  • In depth knowledge of Active Directory, Windows registry, and use of Group Policies.
  • Good understanding of networking technologies and principles e. TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP.
  • Experience taking technical lead role within project teams for rollout/upgrade projects.
  • Knowledge of desktop hardware and driver management.
  • Good understanding of SQL databases and queries.
