Legal Compliance Officer
A top tier city law firm is seeking a compliance analyst with a real interest in a long term career in compliance to join their risk and compliance team.
The law firm was established over 300 years ago and boast an impressive client base of ultra high net worth individuals, entrepreneurs and businesses in a range of practice areas including Real Estate, Private Client, Corporate Commercial and Litigation.
The successful compliance analyst can look forward to a varied and interesting role, conducting in-depth research into the firms existing and potential new clients, and analysing if accepting them as a client would pose any risk to the firm.
You will be looking for potential conflicts of interest that would prohibit the firm from working on the matter, and also analysing if there is any risk of money-laundering, bribery or corruption. You will also be investigating if anyone is a Politically Exposed Person (PEP) or if they are on a Sanctions list.
Whilst this role will be split between AML and clearing legal conflicts, it is likely to have more of a focus on AML so it would suit candidates that prefer this element of the role.
This role is London based and the firm would like the successful candidate to work from the London office several times a week to ensure that the training your receive is sufficient for you to thrive in this role.
You will have at least 6 months experience in a legal admin or a relevant compliance role. Any experience with conflicts or AML would be an advantage. However the firm provide an excellent training programme and so if you have strong administration skills gained in a law firm and interested in compliance please do apply. Strong communication skills are essential as you will be liaising with partners, fee earners and secretaries on a daily basis.
