A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Conveyancing Assistant to join a thriving and friendly Residential Conveyancing team in Sheffield City centre. My client is a Local leading firm with regional offices around South Yorkshire. This is an excellent role for an experienced Conveyancing Assistant who is looking to develop their skills in property transactions. The office location is ideal for commuters with excellent transport links. 

The Conveyancing Assistant role
  • Deal with general routine Conveyancing enquires via email, fax, and telephone and in face-to-face meetings.
  • Liaise with third parties, including buyers Solicitors, Estate Agents, Mortgage Lenders, IFA’s, Landlords and Management Companies
  • Exchange and Complete transactions
  • Progress Purchase files including preparing a draft bill and statement, request deposit from client, undertake final searches, Land Charges and Land Registry, Request money for completion from client and mortgage lender, Deal with completion, chits, sending deed out to other side, letters to client and update agents. including submit SDLT, preparing the file for registration
  • Progress Sales files, including requesting final redemption figure once completion date agreed, Exchange and Complete transactions, prepare draft bill and statement, deal with completion, chits, sending deed out to other side, letters to client and update agents. Paying the mortgage, estate agents etc. Release / check undertakings, deeds of covenant, check residual balance and action appropriately, prepare file for registration, DS1 – send to buyers solicitor or confirmation mortgage dischargedProgress Sales including  Exchange and Complete transactions

The ideal candidate will have:
  • Experience working as an Assistant Conveyancer or similar role or working within a busy Residential Conveyancing Department.
  • Ability to input information quickly and accurately.
  • Proven customer care skills. 
  • Ability to work efficiently and multi-task.
  • Be a team player but also be confident to work on your own.
