PROCUREMENT SOLICITOR - NEWCASTLE

THE FIRM
- Rapidly expanding international law firm with a growing presence in Newcastle
- Highly regarded public procurement team
- International presence working with international clients

THE ROLE
- This highly regarded international firm is looking for a Junior Associate to join its Project and Construction (Non-Contentious Procurement) team in Newcastle
- You will be handling a full caseload of public sector commercial contracts and public procurement matters, full training will be given
- You will be drafting a range of legal documents and offering clients advice, assessing commercial and/or procurement risk
- You will also have the opportunity to get involved in drafting and reviewing procurement documents, and running tender processes
- You will working with a broad and impressive client base to include insurers, large corporates, and public sector bodies such as Strategic Health Authorities and educational institutions

THE REQUIREMENTS
- The successful candidate will be a qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive equivalent, ideally with a minimum of 2-3 years PQE but candidates with more or less experience will be considered on their merits
- You will ideally be a public procurement lawyer with some experience of reviewing and drafting commercial contracts, or a strong commercial contracts lawyer with some public procurement experience
- Preferably you will have some experience of drafting and reviewing procurement documents, and/or running tender processes, and you may have previous experience in assessing commercial and/or procurement risk
- Experience of dealing with procurement challenges either for claimant or defendant (although this is not essential)
- Experience or interest in contracting and procurement in the NHS would be an advantage
- A strong academic profile would be preferred, as well as a willingness to learn and develop your knowledge in public procurement
