A top US Law Firm is looking to hire a new Communications Manager who will be responsible for further increasing the firms visibility in the UK and driving forward strategic internal communications initiatives spanning London and Europe. The successful candidate will be able to work 3 days in the office and 2 days at home.

Responsibilities will include obtaining placements in appropriate UK and European media outlets, based on strategic plans and reactive opportunities, that will raise visibility of the firm and its practice areas and partners in the media, developing and cultivating relationships with appropriate press contacts at relevant business, technology, trade and legal publications, submissions, identifying opportunities to enhance the firm’s profile in the tech sector, preparing partners for media interviews and actively participates in meetings with key journalists, writing communications materials such as press releases, media pitches, by-line article abstracts, pre-briefing documents, social media posts, etc, interfaces with Business Development colleagues and partners to identify industry trends, information on matters and newsworthy client work that we can promote externally and internally and analyses and reports back on results of PR plans and campaigns, using the information to determine appropriate strategic adjustments.  Other duties include managing relationships with external vendors/agencies as required, drafting and managing regular internal communications such as the London office newsletter, supporting the Europe Managing Partner with key internal communications initiatives, including Europe-wide town halls and supporting social media training efforts for London based Lawyers. 

Candidates need to be educated at degree level, Communication experience at manager level within a professional services organisation, preferably a law firm, however that is not essential.  In addition candidates must have excellent written, communication and attention to detail skills with strong experience of both internal and external communications.
