Locum Childcare Legal Assistant – West Midlands – 3 Months+ - Remote Working – up to £20 per hour (Umbrella)


Venn Group’s specialist legal team are currently working with an established Local Authority in the West Midlands area who are recruiting for a Locum Childcare Legal Assistant to join their department.


This is a full-time position however candidates with part-time availability may also be considered. The role is offered for an initial period of 3 Months with the possibility of extension and will be worked on a fully remote basis for the foreseeable future.


This opportunity is suitable for a Paralegal or Legal Assistant with previous Childcare experience gained within Local Government.


Duties may include:

  • Managing a busy and varied caseload of Childcare cases mainly focussing on care proceedings

  • Assisting solicitors to progress directions in care proceedings matters

  • Drafting applications – C2s, C110As, s.34 and Part 25 applications

  • Preparing and drafting case summaries, position statements and briefs to Counsel

  • Dealing with disclosure requests

  • Drafting draft consent orders

  • Reviewing evidence and documents


    An hourly rate of between £15-20 per hour (Umbrella) is offered for this position.
