We are delighted to be exclusively retained by this ever-growing telecommunications business to recruit additional UK qualified Commercial Property lawyers into its established in-house legal team.

The business has grown significantly and has further planned growth for over the next few years. As a result, it is looking to boost its legal team with the addition of another UK qualified Commercial Property lawyer. The recruitment process is ongoing due to the number of roles available.

Not only is this a genuinely rare opportunity to work in-house as a Real Estate lawyer but also to forge a strong career in what is an increasingly booming industry.

The successful candidates will be responsible for handling estate management and/or acquisition work associated with the business’ leasehold mast sites across the UK and Republic of Ireland. You will be joining a team which acquires, develops and manages telecommunications infrastructure sites, with projects involving all of the mobile phone operators in the UK and Ireland and a wide variety of site providers - Premier League football and rugby clubs, music venues, shopping centres, government departments and even churches.

It will be a varied and challenging role which will see you dealing with the full range of Real Estate issues. That said, as with any other in-house legal role, you will also need to occasionally turn your hand to advising on other legal matters affecting the business. The legal team undertakes the vast majority of the business’ legal work in-house but is supported by external international law firms (including lawyers in Dublin) should the matter require it.

The business will consider applications from qualified solicitors with at least two years’ PQE up to those with a number of years' experience from private practice and/or in-house legal teams. Whilst previous telecoms experience is not essential, a confident working knowledge of commercial leases is crucial.

You will have great support and will be fully trained in the specifics relating not just to the telecoms industry but also to the business and its operations. 

Perhaps even more important than your legal experience is your ability to slot into this busy, fast-paced commercial environment. The team is looking for candidates with confident communication and decision-making skills. Your role will involve providing commercial legal advice in a clear and concise manner to non-lawyers, with a continual focus on achieving business objectives, taking a solutions-based approach and getting the job done.

The business’ legal team is based within a bright and smartly appointed open plan office in Otley, West Yorkshire, which is a convenient location for many surrounding residential areas. There is on-site parking and a range of amenities nearby. However, you are likely to enjoy a hybrid of home and office working.
