Securities Advisor / Banking Paralegal - FTC - Liverpool

Banking Paralegal / Securities Paralegal - A 12-month fixed term contract opportunity has arisen in the Liverpool office of this in-house corporate securities team. They are looking for a paralegal or general advisor with securities experience to be part of a team designed to improve and streamline the commercial lending process from sanction to drawdown of the facility. Candidates will be expected to liaise with the bank's relationship managers and clients as well as the banks external panel of legal advisors, where necessary, to ensure the process is as smooth as possible.

  • Reports to: Operations Manager
  • Previous Experience: Securities experience gained at another major bank would be ideal but the team is also considering candidates with experience in other areas such as general banking, commercial property, corporate and commercial contracts. Introduction to the team

The in-house banking team generally deals will commercial loans mainly with SME businesses, though some are with larger organisations. The role draws on technical skills especially in relation to securities as well as more operational attributes. In particular, candidates will be expected to liaise with various different stakeholders within the bank including members of the credit team, relationship managers as well as the firm's panel of external legal advisers.

A sound appreciation of securities and credit process would be useful, though it should be stressed that the team is also considering those with a more general legal background. Excellent communication skills and attention to detail are equally important.

Training, progression and development

As above, the team is looking for someone with an appreciation of securities and the commercial credit process, though it should be stressed that support and training will be given to all successful applicants, so should you have more general experience, but be looking to develop expertise in this area of banking, you are strongly encouraged to apply.
