Head of Legal

My client is an established, high-profile business that are based in Shropshire.

They now have need to recruit a Head of Legal to set-up and establish their in-house legal function. The role will be responsible for providing legal services to the business and will lead the legal function to ensure the provision of timely, commercially focused legal advice and to actively manage risk.

The role will provide proactive and pragmatic legal advice on a broad range of legal matters to the Board and senior management team, procuring external specialist legal advice where cost effective.

Ideally the successful candidate will be a qualified solicitor with experience of working in-house with a minimum of 8 years PQE, however we will also consider applicants from private practice. You will have a strong general commercial background and will be able to advise on a wide variety of legal matters however significant Real Estate experience would be a distinct advantage.

As well as having a commercial approach you will be an outstanding communicator who is able to build relationships and understand colleagues' aims, supporting and influencing them whatever their level of legal or business knowledge.
