Our client will consider flexible working including home working for candidates who are also prepared to travel to the office where needed.
Responsibilities
Working as part of a national legal team you will handle a wide range of commercial legal work including the following tasks:
- Reviewing, advising, drafting and negotiating material commercial agreements including agency, license and distribution agreements, cooperation and development agreements, joint ventures, and consortium agreements, confidentiality agreements, framework and teaming agreements
- Provision of legal services and advice to all internal stakeholders
- Managing litigations, disputes and claims
- Advising on legal, commercial, governance and compliance (including Data Protection, Anti-Bribery and Modern Slavery) issues
- Assistance with setting the Group compliance agenda
- Support for any M&A activity
- Instructing and liaising with external advisors
We are looking for:
- Qualified solicitor with circa 2-6 years PQE* (Scotland or England/Wales preferred)
- Sound knowledge of and practical experience in contract and commercial law
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both orally and the written word
- Capable of adapting legal advice to enable desired commercial outcomes
- Adept at delivering to tight timescales, while managing multiple cases simultaneously
- Self-starter, motivated and capable of operating outside comfort zone
- Flexible and good team worker, assisting as part of wider group legal team where necessary
- Confident in dealing directly and managing relationships with directors, senior managers, customers and suppliers
