A fantastic opportunity exists for a Residential Conveyancing Solicitor to join the Legal Services Department at Optimum Professional Services. The Residential Conveyancing Solicitor is needed on a full-time, permanent basis at our Swindon office. This is, primarily, an office-based role, though there is some scope for remote-working where practical.

About the Role

There are numerous responsibilities that fall under the remit of the Residential Conveyancing Solicitor, including:

• Providing a comprehensive and professional legal service, always ensuring total compliance with the applicable conduct rules and conveyancing protocols.
• Delivering support to the Head of Legal, who you will be reporting to directly.
• Maintaining up-to-date case files, whilst opening new files when necessary on the in-house case management system.
• Managing your own caseload of residential property matters from inception to completion; including, sales and purchases, re-mortgages, transfers of equity, right-to-buy, shared ownership schemes, and more.
• Managing a small team while fulfilling fee-earning responsibilities.
• Preparing sales contracts and supporting documentation.
• Investigating titles and raise enquiries when necessary, ensuring all enquiry information is communicated to the client.
• Maintaining accurate records of all telephone conversations and events as they occur.
• Logging all incoming payments upon receipt.
• Prioritising and processing all daily correspondence.
• Preparing contract reports and dealing with the exchange of contracts in a compliant manner.
• Preparing invoices and financial statements in a timely manner.
• Ensuring clients are available, in advance, when payments are required.
• Dealing with post-exchange issues and preparing for completion, before handling all post-completion work and regulation formalities.

About You

To be an excellent fit for this role, you will need the following experience and attributes:

• A minimum of 3 years’ PQE is essential.
• Specific experience in a conveyancing role with a demonstrable understanding of this area of the law.
• Outstanding communication abilities, both written and verbal.
• Exceptional administration skills.
• Strong organisational nature and a keen eye for detail.
• Confident and personable individual who is comfortable building relationships with Directors and clients alike.
