We have a fantastic opportunity for a Residential Conveyancing Solicitor to join our Legal Services Department and be part of an ambitious, forward thinking team and an expanding Professional Services business. Working/Reporting directly to the Head of Legal, the role includes fee earning responsibilities and management of a small team.

You will be managing your own caseload of residential property matters from inception to completion; including, sales and purchase, re-mortgage, transfers of equity, right to buy, shared ownership schemes and lease extensions etc.

The role will require you to provide a comprehensive and professional legal service, ensuring full compliance with the applicable conduct rules and conveyancing protocols whilst providing support to the Head of Legal.

This is a full-time permanent position and the line management responsibilities make it is essentially office based with recognition and flexibility to work from home where practical/

The successful candidate will be legally qualified with a minimum of three years post-qualification experience in a conveyancing role with a demonstrable understanding of the relevant law. Candidates will have excellent communication and administration skills with strong organisational ability and a keen eye for detail. We are looking for an individual who is personable and confident and able to build relationships with Directors & Clients.

 

A successful track record dealing with the following tasks will be essential:

· Act on the purchase and sale of freehold and leasehold properties

· Maintain case files up to date at all times, including opening new files as required

· Ensure compliance with all legal and administrative requirements governing conveyancing practice

· Prepare sales contracts and supporting documentation

· Regular liaison with clients to ensure they are kept up to date

· Investigate title and raise enquiries as appropriate

· Carry out searches as appropriate and report to clients on results

· Ensure all relevant enquiry information is communicated to the client

Maintain in house case management system

· Maintain accurate record of all telephone conversations and events as they occur

· Ensure all appropriate identity documentation is received and on file at the outset in accordance with the Company Money Laundering Policy & Procedures

· Log all incoming payments immediately upon receipt

· Prioritise and process all correspondence daily

· Prepare contract reports, in readiness for exchange

· Deal with exchange of contracts in compliance with company procedure

· Prepare invoices and financial statements in a timely manner

· Ensure clients are available in advance when payments are required

· Deal with all post exchange issues and prepare for completion

· Deal with all post completion work and registration formalities
