Client Details

International business process outsourcing and professional services company, headquartered in London. It is the largest company of its kind in the UK and is listed on the London Stock Exchange and operates all over the world.

Description

Providing accurate, timely and pragmatic legal advice.

Reviewing, drafting and negotiating mutually beneficial relationships with clients and suppliers in line with the governance framework and Capita preferred positions (where available).

Progression and resolution of disputes with clients and suppliers.

Drafting standard terms for new products / propositions.

Briefing the relevant Head of Legal on contractual relationships of concern, other areas of legal risk and opportunities being referred to the CRC process.

Stakeholder management, which includes a close working relationship with the commercial and procurement teams and the wider legal team.

Liaison with business to provide proactive commercial legal support to help them achieve: (i) their business plans and (ii) the effective delivery and management of existing contracts.

Promoting the use of Capita standard or best practice terms (where available).

Making judicious decisions on deviations from Capita preferred positions, with escalations to relevant individuals where appropriate.

Contributing to the maintenance of precedents, template agreements and know-how.

Gatekeeper for and advocate of the governance framework.

Managing personal continuous professional development, sharing know-how with the wider legal team and assisting with development and dissemination of legal training as required.

Assisting with internal reporting and ad-hoc projects.

Any other duties and responsibilities reasonably required that are commensurate with the role.

Profile

Must be able to work with limited supervision.

Must have commercial contracts experience, specifically relating to services / outsourcing contracts (not just consultancy contracts or standard terms etc).

Must have experience of reviewing, negotiating and drafting bespoke customer contracts.

Public sector experience and/or IT / IP / networks experience a distinct advantage.

Some in-house experience preferred.

Job Offer

  • £50,000 to £80,000 (depending on location and experience)
