Your new company

Real estate private equity group established in 1990's to make value-oriented and opportunistic real estate and real estate related investments primarily in Western Europe. Since its founding, it has raised over €4 billion of equity capital across several funds and co-investment pools from primarily institutional investors including sovereign wealth funds, corporate pension plans and endowments. The organisation has operations across Europe with its main advisory offices in the UK and Luxembourg and an additional office in Spain. Working in a 7-person in-house legal team in the Mayfair, London office.

Your new role

Primary focus of the role is supporting the General Counsel on the core Funds and advisory business of the group. In the short to medium term this means operating the existing Funds and raising new Funds, which may include new strategies and regulatory landscapes. Longer term, there may be scope for some investment transaction work as a secondary focus.

What you'll need to succeed

• Generally, someone with a general corporate background should have good enough skills to pick up the legal work, but knowledge of and prior experience of investment fund structures is an advantage, and/or prior experience of working in-house in private equity.

• Right fit into existing team and company mind set. Flexible/pragmatic in approach and solutions orientated.
• Project management skills (beyond just legal aspect).
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Possess multi-tasking skills and ability to work well under time pressure.
• Enjoy working in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong time management and reporting skills.
• High standard of written and spoken English are essential for the role.
• Previous experience of private equity transactions is a plus.
