In House Legal Counsel 12 Month FTC NQ-2

Your new company
This leading global financial services provider is looking for an In-House Commercial Lawyer to join their Legal team in Bristol on a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract, to provide effective support to their business. You will be joining a busy, collegiate team; the role offers flexible working and possible part-time/reduced hours for the right candidate. This is a role for a Newly Qualified to 2 years PQE commercial lawyer, ideally with exposure of the FS sector. You will split your time between advising on deals yourself (with support as appropriate), as well as suppporting other team members on more substantive matters.

Your new role
You will work primarily remotely however will need to come to Bristol twice a month for team meetings. With support and training, you will provide pro-active legal advice and influential insight, in a commercial way, to internal clients to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. There are many exciting projects afoot, with plenty of variety, learning and opportunity to work with several areas of the business. What you'll need to succeed
You must be passionate about commercial law and will have previous experience in a similar position and will ideally have experience within the Financial Services industry. Our client is interested in hearing from candidates from both an in house or private practice background; if the latter then you will ideally have done a secondment, but this is not a pre-requisite. You will need to be able to provide pragmatic and fast advice to your internal clients, understanding their commercial and strategic needs. The role requires good influencing skills, commercial judgement and a pro-active approach and involves interaction with both junior and senior level executives. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will be NQ-2 PQE.
