Our client is a multinational payments company looking for their next Vice President to lead their Regulatory team and build stakeholder relationships across the business.


* Management of the Group Regulatory team
* Providing guidance to the team on managing complex regulatory matters
* Effectively manage external counsel for updates on new legislative developments
* Responsibility for analysing existing and upcoming regulation on national and international level in the fields of payments regulation, gambling, crypto and AML regulation
* Responsibility to assess the impact of regulation on the various business lines of the Group and translate the impact analysis to the business
* Responsibility for communicating changes effectively
* Leading on internal reports relating to regulatory developments
* Lead on the companies positioning and responses in relation to public consultations and attending hearings and meetings with law makers and authorities

Essential Skills and experience

* 7+ years of experience in payments regulation, ideally in an international payments company
* Significant knowledge of the European and international regulatory landscape for online payments
* Strong legal and analytical skills, a quick mind and the ability to assess and understand the impact of regulation on the business
* International profile and experience
* Excellent oral and written communication skills and presentation skills
* Ability to effectively communicate complex regulatory developments to relevant parties in a timely manner
* Intellectual horsepower to tackle complex problems, someone who can balance commercial judgement with an ability to sensibly assess risk
* Comfortable working in a fast paced, demanding environment and with ambiguity
* Previous experience managing a team of lawyers; leads by example, ensures team development and fosters a culture of excellence
* Able to work collaboratively in cross-functional and internationally dispersed teams
* Strong EQ - able to build good relationships and galvanise support both internally and externally
* Experience communicating with senior executives
* Fluent in written and spoken English
* Able to travel, sometimes at short notice
