Household name Plc seeks to recruit a construction lawyer to work in the commercial team of a large legal department. Our client can consider full or part-time working. This can be remote working with some office travel or a full office role depending on your preference.

Responsibilities

The role sits in a small commercial team, part of a larger legal team which handles a range of general commercial advice and contracts. In this role you will be the lawyer who takes responsibility for all construction related matters and contracts. Work is varied and often complex and could involve the following:
•    Negotiating, drafting and advising on construction contracts
•    Project support and documentation
•    Handling claims and disputes
•    Supporting colleagues where needed with other commercial matters

We are looking for: 

•    A UK qualified solicitor or barrister with minimum of 4 years PQE*
•    Well regarded law firm or inhouse experience, preferably within a similar sector (infrastructure/construction/energy/utilities/engineering)
•    Significant construction law experience 
•    Strong interpersonal, commercial and team skills
•    Experience in supporting and mentoring more junior lawyers
•    Confident and able to work with senior management
