Compliance Manager Needed

Start date: ASAP

Rate of pay: £££ negotiable dependent upon experience


Our client is a large in house organisation in the Midlands seeking an interim Compliance Manager. As interim Compliance Manager you will report directly to the Head of Information and Compliance. You will be responsible for leading a team in the development and implementation phases of an organisational compliance framework. The organisation has a realistic target of two years to implement the planned changes to the existing framework.

The role will require the post holder to have a proactive approach with an ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision. The role requires initiative, and an ability to communicate effectively and possess strong analytical, organisational, interpersonal and prioritisation skills and the ability to use ICT packages effectively and communicate through all media with confidence.

The post holder will be required to deal with matters of a confidential nature, liaising with senior staff and external partners. Team working and flexibility are paramount, as well as the ability to monitor the effectiveness of procedures.

Duties for this post include:

  • To work with the Head of Information and Compliance to implement the Corporate Compliance Framework and devise, implement and conduct audits on statutory and regulatory compliance to provide assurance to the Board.
  • Conducting audits internally.
  • Monitoring reviews of policies and drafting policy.
  • Lead on key compliance projects, such as training programmes and Staff Inductions.
  • To maintain a detailed agenda planning timetable to ensure statutory compliance and governance matters are covered at the appropriate Committee meetings to ensure deadlines are met.
  • To act as a Policy Officer, responsible for central co-ordinator for the Policy System ensuring oversight, review and version control.
  • Schedule and service Corporate Management Board meetings as designated ensuring appropriate technology is in place for virtual attendance, catering requirements are met.
  • To be responsible for the production of accurate minutes with precision and clarity. Maintaining and tracking actions from the Corporate Management Board meetings. Ensuring deadlines for minutes and action trackers are met.

The successful candidate must be well versed in working in a similar compliance based role. You will have experience implementing a compliance framework. Experience of internal audit and assisting in the review of policies would be advantageous. This experience may have been gained within a finance setting, or perhaps an NHS Trust.
