FIRST ALLIANCE HOUSING
IN-HOUSE LEGAL & REAL ESTATE TRANSACTIONS MANAGER
FULL-TIME/ PART-TIME
LEEDS CITY CENTRE / HARROGATE / HYBRID WORKING
£65,000 PLUS CAR ALLOWANCE, BONUS AND PENSION
We are delighted to be exclusively retained by First Alliance Housing to recruit a qualified solicitor into its close-knit team of industry experts.
The Business
This market-leading property development company, which is part of a larger group of companies, has a specific focus on social and affordable housing.
The company objective is simple: to create and provide sustainable, high-quality accommodation for its social housing partners - including Housing Associations, Charities and Local Authorities - on conversion and new-build schemes.
The Opportunity
This is a particularly rare in-house role. Once First Alliance Housing has agreed to purchase a property, the successful applicant will project-manage the acquisition process from start to finish, co-ordinating the legal work provided by external lawyers.
You will carry out property DD covering planning consents and title information in order to provide the team with information on a property before legal instruction. You will also manage pre- and post-completion matters in collaboration with the Development Director and his team of project managers.
What We are Looking For
A confident grasp of the various legal processes and issues involved in developing land and property is absolutely key to this role. You will need to be able to identify what is required, liaise with and guide external lawyers, and to manage, question and advise on the processes involved.
The successful candidate is likely to have a minimum of four years’ PQE of working in a large commercial Real Estate, Real Estate Development and/or Real Estate Finance team. Experience of portfolio sales of residential property would be extremely useful. This is a role for someone who enjoys managing a project and wants to work closer to the business, seeing the fruits of his or her labour.
You will need to have a current driving licence and use of a car.
Culture
First Alliance Housing is a down-to-earth business with a low hierarchy and a culture of respect, collaboration, positivity and transparency. You will have the support of the Company Directors and the Developments team.
The team works from offices in Harrogate and Leeds city centre, but also spends some of the week working from home. You would need to be able to work from one of the company’s modern offices in Leeds or Harrogate two days per week (or more if you prefer).
This is a terrific opportunity for a qualified Real Estate lawyer to move away from chargeable hours fee-earning and into a business advisory role, while retaining and further developing sector specialist knowledge.
Closing Date: Close of business on Friday 17 December 2021, although applications will be considered as and when received and interviews may be scheduled during this time
Haggerty Jaques is exclusively retained by the business and any agency or direct candidate applications or enquiries will be forwarded to Haggerty Jaques for consideration.
Any indications as to PQE and salary levels are shown purely as a guide. The business will consider applications from candidates that can demonstrate the skills or experience required for this role.
