This role is for an experienced paralegal to join a FTSE 250 business. This role will report directly to the Deputy Head of Commercial Legal and offers excellent exposure to stakeholders across both Legal and Company Secretary work streams and opportunities to learn from more senior members of the legal team.

Description
- Contract management - collating, updating and maintaining an accurate file repository of the businesses suite of contractual documentation, including agreements, variations, renewals, side letters and change control notices.
- Preparing simple and short form agreements including:NDA/confidentiality agreements ,LOIs and Side Letters.
- Undertaking legal research as and when required to support the legal team
- Keeping informed of relevant legal and regulatory developments and knowledge sharing within the team
- Arranging signature, preparing and tracking sign-off/approval documentation for contractual agreements in accordance with the standard processes and sign-off templates
- Monitoring the legal team's email inbox and tracking progress of the team's responses to queries from the business, including assisting to ensure the legal function's internal SLAs with the business are adhered to
- Assisting the business with non-complex contract queries
- Support to Company Secretarial team and DPO as required
- Providing the legal team with ad hoc administrative support as and when needed
Profile
· Previous experience working in a law firm or in-house environment
· Strong academics, preferably with a law degree or currently undertaking academic legal study
· Excellent organisation skills, including filing and document management
· Ability to work alongside a small but busy team and prioritise work to ensure timescales are met
· Well-developed communication skills with the ability to build relationships and influence individuals at all levels of the organisation
· Acute attention to detail
· Approachable and responsive
· Self-motivated and drives for continuous improvement
· Strong sense of integrity and values required to maintain standards and legal adherence
· Desirable: good understanding of commercial contracts; typical structures and standard terms
· Desirable: previous experience advising on simple contract queries
· Desirable: experience in managing databases or internal registers
· Desirable: legal research experience; familiar with standard research tools such as PLC
