Commercial Solicitor – In-house

Our client is looking for a Company Commercial Lawyer / Legal Counsel to join their busy in-house legal department. This is a position that will provide decent opportunity to progress and develop your career.

Based in Wakefield the ideal candidate for this position will:

• Have experience in drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts and agreements
• Be able to assist and help the department on a wide range of other legal matters including intellectual property, marketing and advertising standards, data protection, employment, regulatory compliance, and disputes
• Be a qualified solicitor with who has gained good training and post qualified experience at a law firm with a good reputation
• Ideally be between 1 - 4 years PQE
• Provide practical and commercial legal advice, supporting the business to mitigate risk and improve efficiency.

Experience in all areas of legal advice listed above is not necessary but the successful candidate should be prepared to develop their expertise. Exposure to drafting and negotiating commercial contracts is essential.

The successful candidate must be able to point to strong communication skills and good business and commerciality skills. 

Our client envisages that candidates with between 1 to 4 years PQE will have the relevant skills / knowledge for this position, however this has been given as an approximate guide for applicants and our client is happy to consider the applications of candidates who fall outside of this PQE range but who have the relevant experience.
