A top UK Law firm is looking to hire a new Practice Assistant on a permanent basis, to support the Knowledge Management & Private Client team with all secretarial and administration duties. This role will be to work 9.30am – 5.30pm, two days a week in the office, 3 at home and a salary of up to £43,000 is on offer plus great benefits.
Responsibilities will include effective and proactive diary management, and awareness of Fee Earners' workloads to plan ahead, with minimal supervision, processing relevant applications, forms or searches, researching new clients/contacts and prepares bios before meetings, and conducts basic research (on-line or otherwise) for Fee Earners when required, arranging travel and any other activities on behalf of Fee Earners, creating typed work of a high quality, formatting in accordance with house style, at high speed, with accuracy and following internal guidelines, creating new documents from the Firm’s templates, using contact data from InterAction, preparing bills (including bill narratives), preparing AML documentation and obtains relevant documentation, carrying out conflict searches and correctly identifies the work type. Knowledge Management responsibilities will include creating and updating team precedents and know-how, assisting KL with the preparation of the team weekly legal update, managing the team’s knowledge document management systems and helping to promote them to the team, assisting KL in monitoring new practice area developments and publicising them to the team, liaising with Marketing and team members in relation to the production of team briefings, managing the team’s training booking system including publicising key training events within the team, assisting KL with arranging Quarterly Tax Review training sessions for the team and providing knowledge induction for new team PAs.
Candidates need to have previous secretarial experience within a law firm with a keen interest in the Knowledge Management team. Excellent written, communication and organisational skills are essential, in addition to excellent attention to detail skills.
