Description

  • Day to day leadership of the operational aspects of the data strategy.
  • Support the definition of and then execute enterprise wide product and customer data governance to ensure operational adherence to data standards.
  • Support the documentation of data definitions to ensure that data can be governed, and those definitions adhered to by business data users.
  • Ensure that the evolution of Product and Customer data structures/architectures are directly aligned to the commercial goals of the business.
  • Ensure that the evolution of Product and Customer data structures are aligned to the technical/architectural technology road maps as owned by the software engineering teams.
  • Increase the knowledge and understanding, across all levels of the organisation, of why having product and customer data at the heart of the business helps drive commercial performance.
  • Maintain a RACI of data ownership and make it visible to all colleagues/stakeholders
  • Define, produce, and utilise formalised data quality reporting and use it to collaborate with data stakeholders to uplift data quality.
  • Collaborate with data owners as a data SME and advise on the best way to improve the quality of their data

Profile

  • DAMA accreditation or similar, or demonstrable working knowledge of data management and data governance principles and best practice
  • Operational familiarity of setting up, implementing and gaining adoption to data governance frameworks
  • Familiarity of the legislative data landscape
  • Operational Experience of leading Master Data Management in a mid to large business (£200m+)
  • Good understanding of of the principles of B2B distribution including customers, systems and processes.
  • Proven ability to structure and maintain data policy and data definition documentation that can be easily consumed by data stakeholders
  • Excellent stakeholder influencing skills. Ability to contextualise technical concepts as drivers of commercial performance
  • Operational knowledge of data management systems and information architecture
  • Working familiarity of operating data improvement programmes via formalised project/programme management structures
  • Engaging and Authoritative Style
  • Highly Resilient and highly committed to delivery of mid to long term objectives
  • Superb communicator with the ability to gauge an audience and deliver a compelling message at all levels of the business.
