First Head of Legal role in an early stage FinTech client, who has recently completed their second funding round.

Our client, an early stage cryptocurrency/ technology start-up, is looking to bring on board their first Head of Legal. The company has successfully completed two funding rounds to date, and the successful candidate will lead all key legal and regulatory matters and support the growth of the company.

The role's responsibilities include:



● Lead all legal and regulatory aspects globally;

● Take ownership of the client's compliance with legal and regulatory requirements on an

ongoing basis across all relevant jurisdictions;

● Understand key legal and regulatory implications, including new business launches;

● Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements and contracts;

● Identify legal/compliance issues and operational risks on an ongoing basis, including

analysing new regulations to determine the impact on the business; and

● Undertake other special projects as required.

Ideal candidates will have qualified from a Tier 1 law firm in the UK, US or Europe and ideally have experience in working with proprietary trading or in the cryptocurrency sector. Other relevant backgrounds include experience within the hedge fund, brokerage and/or broader FinTech sectors.

Requirements



● Solicitor qualification (or equivalent) in UK, US or Europe

● Legal experience and expertise in US cap markets and financial markets regulation

● Legal experience or keen interest in working with proprietary trading and the cryptocurrency sector

● Deep understanding of legal and regulatory issues facing cryptocurrency-related companies in different jurisdictions

● Ability to proactively, efficiently, and accurately assess legal business risks in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of flexibility, adaptability, and collaboration
