Fantastic opportunity for a corporate lawyer who ideally has some insurance/reinsurance experience to join a global financial services organisation.

My client, a global financial services organisation, is looking for a junior corporate lawyer who ideally has some insurance/reinsurance experience to join it's established legal team in London. This is a permanent position supporting the Head of Legal.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • providing legal advice and transaction support to the business;
  • advising, negotiating, managing and reporting on the legal aspects of a range of the organisation's transactions including; reinsurance contracts, smaller pension risk transfer ("PRT") transactions, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements ancillary to the PRT business;
  • assisting with the on-going development of the organisation's standard form documentation; and advising on financial services and pensions regulatory issues;
  • working with the other teams to ensure that there is a coherent and seamless delivery of legal and governance advice to the Group;
  • representing the Group where appropriate at regulatory and industry forums;
  • assisting the Head of Legal to identify and report any matters which are of strategic, reputational or material financial value to the General Counsel;
  • managing external counsel, key stakeholders and other third parties and to ensure business costs are kept to a minimum and manage external legal advice to ensure sound and commercially useful advice is provided to the business;
  • ensuring there is appropriate horizon scanning of legal regulatory developments and ensure that the Group is advised in a timely and appropriate manner; and
  • co-ordinating with external counsel and internal advisory functions including the arranging of legal education and training.

I'm looking to speak with junior corporate, insurance or reinsurance lawyers (1-3PQE) who are at a top law firm or are already in-house at a leading financial services organisation.

Please note insurance/reinsurance experience is not essential for this role. My client is happy to consider junior corporate lawyers who are keen to get stuck in and work with the legal team in a very hands on role which involves a lot of interaction with senior stakeholders across the business.

Please email me at to learn more about this interesting opportunity.
