Due to expansion of the business, there is a need for the Head of Legal & Compliance to have further administrative and legal support within the legal & compliance team.

Description

Contractual negotiation / drafting:

* Experience in the following areas would ideal/ preferred:
* drafting amendments, negotiating, reviewing regulated and unregulated asset finance documentation in respect of finance and operating leasing, loan, hire purchase, sale and HP/leaseback transactions;
* negotiating / reviewing amendments to trading agreements used with vendor partners and brokers;
* reviewing changes to and/or negotiating commercial documentation, including stocking agreements, remarketing and sales agency arrangements, co-operation agreements and all types of intermediary arrangements;
* Knowledge of / assisting with a wide range of regulatory and compliance matters, including FSMA/CCA and DPA/GDPR;
* practical pre-litigation support for collections and recoveries and all forms of asset dispute, including satisfactory quality (SQ) complaints, letter writing, complying with Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS);
* Seeking additional advice when necessary from external lawyers.

Legal Support & Operational:

* Dealing with documentation approval request, ensuring account managers are submitting the approval request with all supporting documentation and correspondence and providing a commercial background to their requests;
* Ensuring all doc approvals are submitted into the e-sign platform (Adobe Sign) for approval by the relevant signatories and ensuring all final approvals are scanned and filed to relevant internal systems /drives;
* Assist with ensuring standard documentation is FCA & CCA compliant;
* Assist with ensuring relevant ABC Group clauses are included in all Customers/partners/providers contracts, as per SG Code, including Sanctions and embargoes clauses in customer contracts;
* Follow-up on GDPR, e-privacy, IDD, BREXIT, IBOR transitions, as required;
* Manage and monitor the template contract review and approval process;
* Maintain and update the suite of approved documents, and assist sales staff in using them
* Approving internal Supplier relationships with SGEF's critical and non-critical suppliers
* Signing off documentation for use across the business;
* Conduct a review of contracts as part of Company Permanent Supervision controls
* Provide guidance or support to Business Services to enable the registration or satisfaction of Charges at Companies House
* Provide training and advice to Customer Services Complaints Team in relation to Complaints
and dealing with Satisfactory Quality complaints and liaising with The Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS).
* Draft letters for legal cases, if required
