An exciting opportunity to join a niche technology business with massive growth plans seeking to recruit their first Head of Legal. The business has attracted significant investment and is undertaking a large recruitment drive seeking to double employee numbers in the next few months. This is a good time to join the business in a key role. This position can be undertaken fully remote or with some office presence.


  • Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer you will work closely with and advise the senior leadership team taking a key role in shaping the current legal framework, strategy, processes, and policies
  • You will liaise with clients in both the public and private sector across financial services, gambling, banking, defence, and government agencies
  • Support high value and complex bid and tender processes including public procurement advice
  • Review, draft, negotiate and advise across a broad range of contracts including sales, procurement, product development, software, SaaS, cloud, outsourcing, service level, confidentiality
  • Working with the DPO satisfying compliance requirements on data protection regulations and reviewing documents
  • Supporting the business with legal advice across employment, consumer, competition and IP  including managing external legal advisers

We are looking for:

  • UK qualified solicitor or barrister ideally with a minimum of 5 years PQE*
  • Substantive experience in commercial and technology law including strong contract drafting experience
  • Prior experience supporting bids and tenders, ideally with public procurement exposure
  • An understanding of current data protection laws
  • Some experience in IP matters would also be a benefit but not essential
  • Able to communicate clearly and concisely
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills, with the ability to work effectively with people at all organisational levels and to influence and persuade others in a constructive manner
  • Demonstrable awareness of the commercial aspects of business
  • Excellent organisational skills must be able to manage conflicting and demanding priorities
  • Gravitas to influence effectively internal and external parties
  • Must be able to work with little supervision
  • Ability to build and manage a team in future
