Description

• To manage both customer and supplier agreements, in line with group approved guidelines
• To support the senior management team in strategic partnerships and projects
• To draft and negotiate on commercial partnership agreements
• To supervise and support the junior legal function as well as liaise and guide external counsel,where necessary
• To respond to customer queries on the interpretation of clauses and negotiate customer agreements
• To assist the sales teams in the review of tender documentation and in customer negotiation
• To draft instructions to external lawyers and assist all business areas in interpreting and managing responses (typically;Consumer Credit, Advertising Regulations, Data Protection and Property matters)
• To support and assist the Head of Legal and Compliance through weekly legal reviews
• To ensure that a system of recording contract amendments is maintained and accurate
• To develop others in the legal and non legal departments by providing support, training and guidance
• To assist with the negotiation and renewal of financing agreements
• To assist with company secretarial matters

Profile

Suitable candidates for the role of Senior Legal Counsel will have the following qualifications and experience:

• Qualified solicitor in the UK or other relevant jurisdiction
• Strong depth of experience in contract negotiation and drafting
• Strong overall grasp of general commercial matters with a meticulous attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Sound internal and external stakeholder engagement
