This is an opportunity to move into an in-house Banking team within an established legal function.

Client Details

A major financial institution.

Description

Are you a Banking Solicitor working in private practice and frustrated with the long or sporadic hours? Have you been contemplating a move out of practice but are not sure where this would take your career?

We are working with an in-house team who are looking to recruit a Solicitor with a strong transactional Banking background.

It is a large in-house team and you would be part of a specific team of around 6-7 lawyers working on Banking matters. There will be plenty of support to help you get up to speed with processes, documents and the way in which the team works. You would report into a lawyer who also made the move in-house from practice. There would be a formal training plan too.

The work is high level and you would be working on often multi-million pound transactions. However, as the work is M&A or Corporate Finance support work, you will be able to achieve a work/life balance. There are no late night completions. The team works extremely hard and the work will be challenging.

You will also be given good responsibility - rather than working on ancillary documents or CPs, you will get the opportunity to lead on deals and be the point of contact for internal stakeholders.

As it is a large financial institution, there will be plenty of scope for career progression which can be outlined to you at interview stage.

The team also works very flexibly and were already doing so pre-Pandemic. You will not be needed in the office every day. Its likely that you would work in the office 1-2 days per week.

Profile

Ideally you will be a qualified Banking Solicitor with at least 12 months' transactional experience (either as part of a training contract or as a qualified solicitor). The team could be open to looking at a strong Corporate or Insolvency Solicitor who can demonstrate a genuine interest in moving into this type of in-house role.

Job Offer

Flexible working, work/life balance and excellent quality work.
