This pragmatic but fast paced role will work with the board, the regional General Counsel for the Americas and senior business leaders, from providing commercial legal advice, contract negotiation in relation to business as usual work as well as the integration with Inner workings, support on company re-financing and M&A activity, plus supporting our senior managers in relation to corporate contract negotiations.

This role will report directly into the Chief Financial Officer, with a dotted line into three regional CEO's for APAC and EIMEA.

The role will involve communicating with the wider business. This role will manage, lead and develop the two regional legal teams across EIMEA and APAC and manage nine employees based in the UK and India.


  • Prepare, review, edit, negotiate, and manage a wide variety of commercial agreements, including supply agreements, customer agreements with large, multinational corporations, event and vendor agreements, independent contractor agreements, IT and SaaS agreements and professional services agreements;
  • Manage and protect the company's IP portfolio;
  • Assist the HR team with ad hoc employment queries;
  • Provide guidance to the board and the group more generally on corporate governance matters, in particular in relation to subsidiary management in the EIMEA and APAC regions;
  • Help the business respond to RFPs by reviewing contractual documents and advising on legal and commercial risks;
  • Manage external counsel, as necessary;
  • Provide general guidance and training on legal issues affecting the business (for example, compliance issues and the Bribery Act);
  • Ensure that the business is aware of relevant legislation affecting them and help the business prepare for future changes;
  • Manage the filing and safe-keeping of legal documentation;
  • Provide general guidance and training on legal issues affecting EIMEA and APAC.


  • Proactively communicate with, lead and manage all direct reports and team members (across the EIMEA and APAC regional legal teams and the company secretarial team).
  • Managing a matter management solution in respect of the legal function;
  • Delegate effectively to provide challenge and learning for the team and ensure successors are in place;
  • Build and maintain influential relationships with key stakeholders, working closely with them to provide legal support required and develop commercially viable contracts and solutions to meet business needs;
  • Support Board and senior managers with their commercial legal issues and the appropriate application of legislation where needed, managing any associated risks as appropriate;
  • Deliver Legal updates and webinars internally when appropriate;
  • Manage own continuous development, regularly review objectives and update them.



  • Qualified, commercially-minded lawyer with significant commercial experience (PQE 7+) - some in-house General Counsel/ Head of Legal experience preferred but not essential
  • Ideally qualified in, or experience of EIMEA and APAC commercial legal issues;
  • Management and team leadership experience, including proactive planning and organising, deadline management, accurate budgeting and cost control as well as extensive experience negotiating and drafting complex commercial contracts;
  • Knowledge of the marketing execution and print management industry preferred but not required;
  • Experience of dealing with cross-jurisdictional issues;
  • Ability to build relationships with external clients and internal stakeholders.
