A new position is available for a talented, senior manager to lead a team of contract managers for North America. 

Open for multiple locations in the USA, this exciting opportunity will appeal to those with a digital mindset and are looking to ignite their influential skills with an innovative & global organisation.

The role will be fully integrated into the businesses' project activity, working alongside the projects, commercial and legal functions.

The remit requires the role holder take responsibility for contract management activity on a lead basis, so applicants must have advanced CM experience in addition to a team-lead background. 

There is extensive potential for the incoming candidate to grow the brand and embed CM support further into the business, building the team accordingly. 

Reporting to the Global Contract Management Vice President, your mission will be to lead the North American contract management team and be operationally engaged to review and deal with contractual, financial and tax related aspects of company projects ensuring compliance with policies.

 

Responsibilities will include:

 

Team lead:

  • Build, mentor and lead the team across North America 
  • Coach team members on all contract management related matters.
  • Drive cultural change to improve identifying, controlling and mitigating key contract risks.

At the tender phase:

  • Propose commercial strategy for winning contractual set-up and work with other key stakeholders to perform the contract review and negotiation.
  • Identify, review and mitigate financial, and tax related risks in consultation with the relevant subject matter experts.
  • Support the finalisation of contracts with customers and/or subcontractors in consultation with the relevant subject matter experts.
  • Ensure back to back terms with key suppliers are implemented.
  • Review final contract against agreed and approved position.

At the execution phase:

  • Administer the project execution against contractual rights and obligations.
  • Ensure that contractual supply obligations are performed, properly documented and closely followed up.
  • Support project managers on risk, opportunity identification and management.
  • Identify, prepare, submit, and negotiate variation orders and claims with both customer and subcontractors.
  • Participate in project reviews, propose and support mitigation actions as required.
  • Ensure local tax, bonding, insurance & customs issues are identified and addressed.
