First Head of Legal opportunity for global technology recruitment company.
Our client, a growth-stage tech recruitment company, is looking to hire their first Head of Legal. Reporting to the Board, and managing a Paralegal, the successful candidate will:
* Give accurate and timely counsel to Board and wider business in a variety of legal topics and providing ad hoc legal support to other divisions such as HR, marketing, business operations and finance
* Provide legal advice in negotiating terms and managing disputes with clients and contractors
* Draft and maintain template terms and conditions globally
* Generally support the Board, Information Governance Manager and Finance team in good corporate governance processes
* Research and evaluate different risk factors regarding business decisions and operations
* Apply effective risk management techniques and offer proactive advice on possible legal issues
* Communicate and negotiate with external parties (regulators, external counsel, etc.), creating relations of trust
* Provide legal and commercial insight and updates for the business and deliver training and awareness across the business on all things legal
* Maintain current knowledge of changes to legislation
* Ensure all areas of the business are legally compliant with applicable laws and drive best practice in policies and processes
Requirements:
* Qualified lawyer with in-house experience;
* An in-depth understanding and strong technical knowledge of contracts and commercial agreements;
* Experience in recruitment industry is desirable;
* Excellent knowledge and understanding of corporate law and procedures;
* Highly organised, methodical and ability to work independently;
* Ability to build excellent cross functional relationships with key members of the management team
* High degree of professional ethics and integrity
* Sound judgement and ability to analyse situations and information
* Outstanding communication skills
