  • Supporting the Assistant Divisional Legal Manager in supervising the Estate Conveyancers, Conveyancing Assistants and Legal Administrators in the day to day provision of the in house conveyancing function to the allocated Business Units, including any consequent part exchange transactions.


  • To continually monitor and improve the performance of the Estate Conveyancers, Conveyancing Assistants and Legal Administrators in their delivery of a timely and efficient quality service to the Business Units.


  • Attending as required regular Build/Sales Forecast meetings with the Business Units to report on the progress towards achievement of contract exchange and legal completion targets.


  • To keep up to date with developments in conveyancing practice and to ensure that where appropriate changes in procedure are communicated and implemented across the Business Units by the Estate Conveyancers, Conveyancing Assistants and Legal Administrators.


  • To assist the Divisional Legal Manager or Assistant Divisional Legal Manager as required to ensure that all staff at all levels of qualification receive adequate managerial and professional support, guidance and training commensurate with their role.


  • Monitor and 'police' compliance with internal operating policies and procedures including the Operating Framework.


  • To provide support and assistance to the Divisional Legal Manager or Assistant Divisional Legal Manager in any matters relating to Developments including but not limited to the preparation of contract packs, infrastructure agreements/management agreements/transactions and sales of freehold reversions.


  • To ensure that following completion of any Development, that any outstanding legal matters regarding the ongoing management of the development and/or adoption of infrastructure and similar documents are progressed to completion in conjunction with Business Unit.


  • To receive historic queries arising from completed Developments belonging to the Company and taking the necessary action to rectify/resolve the queries and any issues arising.


  • To advise the Business Unit in relation to and conduct any incidental land disposals on current and historic developments from the Company.


  • Promote the Legal Department as an integral key part of the Company's operations acting as both facilitators and guardians of policy and best practice.

  • Profile

    Delivery of a first rate quality Conveyancing Service to the Business in connection with Plot Sales and ancillary matters.

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    Ability to engage, collaborate and facilitate the Business's operations whilst monitoring and "policing" compliance with internal operating policies/procedures along with all applicable UK legislation and regulations relating to its activities including without limitation, the prevention of money laundering and financial fraud and the SRA Code of Conduct.

    To deliver the highest standard of customer service to both internal and external customers.

    To be flexible and considerably personal and professional at all times.

    Qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive or Licensed Conveyancer with a proven track record of Property Law and residential estate conveyancing.

    Experience of dealing with housebuilders and associated legal issues relating to same.

    Excellent inter-personal skills which command the respect of others at all levels.

    Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word, and a good knowledge of Excel and Powerpoint.
