The Client

 

 

Our client is a Global Manufacturing Company looking for a Paralegal to join their European Headquarters.

 

 

The Role

 

 

You will be a member of the legal team and will be required to support them. You will be required to provide excellent legal support and day-to-day advice across the company’s European operations.

 

 

Whether you are drafting, reviewing, negotiating contracts, dealing with data protection queries, developing strategy or identifying risk, the role will be fundamental in ensuring a high-quality service to the company.

 

 

You will be a Paralegal with a minimum of 2 years’ experience.

 

 

The Requirements

 

 

The successful candidates work will include (but not be limited to):

 

  • ensuring the confidentiality and security of all company documentation and/or information;
  • working with the legal team and external law firms in undertaking a review of all existing GDPR Standard Contractual Clauses and replacing them with the newly issued standard contractual clauses. In this capacity you will be taking a leading role to ensure that the project completes within the deadline set by the EU;
  • assisting the legal team with GDPR compliance;
  • attending compliance meetings and taking minutes/notes in relation to each meeting and circulating as needed
  • reviewing and negotiating various contracts;
  • advising internal clients about the risks associated with different contracts;
  • liaising with third parties for the purpose of arranging documents for notarisation and apostille - arrange for the appropriate of execution of documents electronically and by wet signature
  • ensuring matter records are made and maintained in line with the company’s procedures (including within the company developed contract management system) and assist with the management of internal filings, systems and records;
  • manage files diligently and review each regularly;
  • compliance with internal policies and procedures, ethical standards and regulatory requirements;
  • maintain regular contact with the internal clients and keep them informed at all times;
  • deal promptly with all internal client enquiries and correspondence;
  • maintain effective communication with colleagues across the company, as required; and
  • comply with the relevant professional training requirements.

 

The successful candidates will need to hold the following skills and experiences:

 

 

  • Achieved a minimum 2.1 in a law degree or 2.1 non-law degree with at least commendation in Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) is ideal but not essential.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience within a law firm or in-house legal team.
  • Experience in corporate/commercial law, including a strong technical ability to review, negotiate and draft contracts.
  • Excellent communications skills.
  • Excellent negotiator.
  • Have exceptional attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of data protection is ideal but not essential.
  • Fluent in English.
