Experienced credit hire paralegal required for a leading Greater Manchester based law firm

Your new company
This is a large and growing insurance based law firm who are recruiting for an experienced Credit Hire File Handler, to specialise in MOJ clams in their Bolton office in Greater Manchester. The firm are specialists in complex, casualty and corporate sectors, with excellent and award-winning teams in areas such as counter-fraud, complex injury, healthcare, abuse, credit hire and motor law.

The firm are going through an exciting time of growth, and are recruiting across their nationwide offices to cope with a growing demand for their services. They are looking to bring in an experienced candidate who is able to hit the ground running and take on a caseload independently. The firm also offer training contracts to individuals with the right attitude and work ethic.

Your new role
The role title for this position is MOJ Credit Hire File Handler and the firm are hoping to bring in individuals who have gained prior experience within this area and are looking to progress and work towards a training contract. You will handle a case load of portal claims, and in addition also handle liability disputed claims on a pre-litigation basis that subsequently drop from the portal. You will perform specific delegated tasks within a supervised environment, but also have the ability to work independently.

Alongside this, other typical responsibilities will include:

  • Making initial investigations and liaising with the Insured, Insurer and Third Party solicitors as to liability and making an appropriate assessment.
  • Undertake discussions and negotiations with Insured, Insurer and Third Party Solicitors to pursue the rapid and appropriate settlement of cases and the apportionment of costs.
  • If relevant, drafting Court documentation and instructing Counsel as appropriate
  • Timely and accurate maintenance of all case management, billing and management information systems to ensure completeness of records and aid business decision making


What you'll need to succeed
This position is requires candidates to have some prior credit hire experience, ideally defendant although claimant is also beneficial. You must have experience in handling your own caseload of credit hire claims. You do not have to have your LLB degree to apply for this role, although it would be beneficial.
