*US LAW FIRM* Restruct/Lev Finance Associate - NQ-3PQE

Pure Search are instructed by one of the leading white-shoe US law firms who are looking at making multiple hires to build out their Restructuring and Leveraged Finance practices.

The Company:

This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join a prestigious white-shoe US firm with a twist. In many respects representing a Greenfield site, with the platform and backing of one of the leading US law firms, you will work closely with some of the leading partners in the market to help build out the firm's Restructuring and Leveraged Finance teams.

Our client is looking for someone with entrepreneurial flare who is looking for something different and more start-up, despite being a leading US law firm and offering Cravath scale salaries. As a result, you will be able to imprint your vision over the politics and personality of the practice moving forward and this will be welcomed by the partners.

The Role:

The role will expose you to an abundance of private credit and bank work. On the restructuring side, this will focus on credit and middle-market leveraged finance with some junior debt and subordinated instruments. In particular, there will be quite a bit of work with emerging markets, credit and hedge funds. On the leveraged finance side, the role will offer exposure to lenders and private credit funds, with particular exposure to sponsor-backed companies. There is scope for multiple hires separately across both areas.

The most unique aspect of this opportunity is the focus on building a personal brand in the market. The team are significantly investing in business development and will support an incoming associate with client training to build your personal relationships from day 1. There is also a genuine appreciation of people having a life away from the office and no hierarchy within the team. The partners are heavily invested in getting their growth plans right and are looking for junior lawyers who share their philosophy and vision.

About You:

You will be either a final seat trainee or a junior associate with at least six-months experience in either restructuring or leveraged finance. You may have gained your experience at a leading international or national law firm, either in London or the regions, and be looking for a step up with a clear and transparent progression path, which will see you develop your own practice from a very early stage.
