To work alongside and support the Head of Governance & Assurance in the delivery of governance and company secretarial services across the organisation and be able to deputise in their absence

* Governance

Together with the Head of Governance & Assurance develop and manage governance policies, processes and controls to ensure that all activities performed comply with relevant regulatory and statutory requirements. Provide support to the Board and Senior Leadership Team as required in relation to governance processes, including the administration around board recruitment, succession, appraisal and training. In the absence of the Head of Governance & Assurance, act as the first point of contact for non-executive directors, organising and facilitating board and committee meetings, including minute taking and use of the board meeting software.

* Special Projects

Assist in the preparation and development of specialist projects in relations to Governance across the organisation. This will include in-depth assessments (IDA), supporting the Governance Team / Board / Senior Leadership Team in relation to the assessment and associated requirements.

* Company Secretarial

Together with the Head of Governance & Assurance develop and manage the delivery of company secretarial services across the organisation including management companies. This will include maintaining statutory records and registers for regulatory bodies such as the Regulator of Social Housing, Companies House and FCA. In addition, oversee and manage the processes around the execution of documents, declarations of interest and the signing and sealing register.

* Scrutiny

Together with the Head of Governance & Assurance to support the co-regulatory regime within the organisation and ensure a flow of information between Board and scrutiny groups.

* Developing the Service

Identify, build and develop an extensive network of key stakeholders, internal and external, to keep abreast of best practice and benchmarking to deliver efficiencies, improvements and value for money.

Profile

* Organisation and prioritisation skills, flexible and able to thrive in a changing environment

* IT literate with good communication skills, both verbal and written

* Listening skills, with ability to analyse and interpret information to inform decision making

Good knowledge of Microsoft Office packages

* Proven knowledge of governance and constitutional matters and a willingness to research and learn new relevant matter

* Proven experience of governance in a regulated environment

* Interpersonal skills and confidence to deal with senior managers and board members

* Proactive and flexible approach to managing governance administration

* Minute taking experience at a senior level
