In house legal counsel

This company has a long history and interesting history, from which it has built a high tech engineering business. They currently are looking to recruit a commercial lawyer (solicitor, contracts manager or experienced commercial paralegal) to join the team

Our client is a long established and successful high tech engineering business with a diverse and interesting product line. This wide ranging role is focussed around drafting, reviewing and negotiating a broad range of complex heavyweight supply and purchasing contracts, but could also encompass IP / technology transfer agreements, and joint ventures as well as general commercial support to the business. You'll also need to stay abreast of legal developments and relevant legislation affecting the company and incorporate them into the company's practices, and help develop, and understand, risk mitigation strategies for contractual risks.

To be successful in this role you will need a commercial outlook, experience in contracts law and have pragmatic outlook to assisting a business achieve its goals. You'll probably need at least a year or two practical experience of contracts law.

The company is based in West Yorkshire, and is easily commutable from both Leeds and Manchester, and of course flexible work patterns are available . In addition to this, the business offers significant flexibility around start /finish times, you can accrue an extra 12 days holiday a year, and there an option to have an early finish on Fridays. Not something you'd normally get in a private practice environment!
