Commercial Intellectual Property - City of London - Private Practice
If you are a talented, entrepreneurial and ambitious lawyer, who sees things a bit differently, this could be the opportunity for you. A market-leading legal advisory business with technology at its core requires an Intellectual Property Solicitor to help to shape the future of the team.
The Firm
The firm is a rapidly-growing business with the resources, international network and client list of a global law firm. The firm boasts over 2,500 lawyers in more than 85 jurisdictions. This makes them one of the largest legal businesses in the world with a global footprint that exceeds that of any traditional firm.
The Team
The core IP team advises clients on both contentious and non-contentious IP issues.
The team works for many household-name clients as well as fast-growing companies and creatives, and is recognised, collectively and individually at partner and non-partner level, in the main legal directories.
They have seen huge growth in the non-contentious IP side of the practice and are looking for a senior lawyer with a background at a City firm, an IP boutique or equivalent.
The role focuses on developing and honing your professional skills and delivering high-quality legal advice and matter management. As you develop your skills and experience, you will increasingly focus on helping to define propositions, winning work and becoming a trusted legal advisor to clients.
The Candidate
You will have:
Solid experience of contentious and non-contentious IP, including general IP advisory work, IP licensing, the IP aspects of corporate transactions and IP discovery/strategy projects.
Demonstrable ability to undertake and manage workstreams and/or matters precisely and effectively, delegating to and supervising junior lawyers where necessary.
Demonstrable ability to analyse thoroughly and advise accurately on technically complex facts and legal principles but with a focus on providing practical and commercial advice.
Skilled at analysing and managing legal and practical risk.
Enthusiasm for delivering legal services via a non-traditional delivery model and multidisciplinary offering.
Interest in process and proposition design; always looking for ways in which to improve the way in which services are delivered
Teamwork
Willingness to take on responsibility, and determination to see things. through and deliver to a high standard.
